Throughout the year the YMCA of the East Valley hosts Wellness Classes that focus on Healthy Living through a series of topics including Nutrition and Cooking Classes, Stress Management, Meditation, Injury Prevention, and Community Engagement. We also offer opportunity for certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED. If you are new to fitness or are a returning exerciser, you may consider taking one of our Wellness Education opportunities that focus on setting goals and familiarizing yourself with the Fitness Center, including the YMCA Jump Start Program or Equipment Orientation.


Certification: CPR/First Aid/AED

Obtain your Certification for CPR, First Aid, and AED at the YMCA! This class will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to respond to heart and breathing emergencies for adults, children, and infants. Learn how to perform CPR and how to use an AED machine, while also learning basic first aid. This course is open to the community!

Diabetes Prevention Class
Featuring Redlands Community Hospital

Join the YMCA for an informative, free class on Diabetes Prevention, presented by Redlands Community Hospital. A person with pre-diabetes has elevated blood glucose levels and is at great risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Pre-diabetes affects over 86 million Americans, one third of whom are undiagnosed. This class will help you to identify your risk factors for developing diabetes while also learning
healthy life style changes to prevent the development of Type 2 diabetes.

Equipment Orientation

At the YMCA, it is important that all members feel safe and comfortable while utilizing the equipment and services in our facilities. An Equipment Orientation can help you begin your wellness journey by offering you a step-by-step guide on how to use the equipment in the Fitness Center. YMCA Wellness Staff is available to answer your questions and help you determine correct weight and resistance on the machines.

To schedule an Equipment Orientation, please place your request with the Membership Desk at your branch and they will match you with a Wellness Staff member to assist you.

Family Fit Presented by Beaver Medical Group

Focus on your health and well-being as a family in our Family Fit class! Learn about healthy eating, and family-friendly fitness activities, while discovering new techniques to build healthy and strong lifestyles. Parents and children, ages 7-12, are invited to join in the fun and learn together in the Family Fit class.

Jump Start Program

Jump Start is a free 12-week personal exercise program designed for the new or returning exerciser. The program creates a one-on-one relationship between the member and a Wellness Coach to ensure social support, enhance self-confidence, and establish a motivating routine. Jump Start your health at the YMCA!

Jump Start to Success:
  • Set personal fitness goals.
  • Learn how to exercise safely.
  • Develop a wellness routine.
  • Work one-on-one with an experienced Wellness Coach.
  • Take control of your health.
