For two hours a day, Betsy gets a chance to focus on herself.
With five children under the age of 15, her days consist of caring for her kids and ensuring her family is set up for success.
Her YMCA journey began at the Whittier YMCA where she found solace in fitness. When Betsy and her husband made the decision to move to Redlands, Betsy felt distraught that her time at the Y would
be ending.

And then, Betsy received a call from the YMCA of the East Valley. Knowing she was moving to Redlands, the Whittier YMCA and the YMCA of the East Valley worked together so that Betsy would have the opportunity to be a member, no matter the financial situation.
“I cannot express how grateful I am for the YMCA of the East Valley, especially when we first relocated here,” shared Betsy.
Like many parents, exercise provides necessary stress relief. For Betsy, it’s the only chance she has during her day to make herself the number one priority. Being able to focus on keeping herself healthy has allowed her to become a better parent and role model to her five children.

Now, Betsy has even bigger dreams. Her goal is to not only inspire her family to stay active but fellow members at the Y too. With a big smile and a passion for exercise, Betsy now serves as the class motivator, encouraging her friends to keep going and finish strong.
