EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST
We collaborate with families to deliver engaging and meaningful programs for children five to thirteen years old. We take pride in hiring the best people for our day camp staff. Our day camp staff are selected for their unique blend of passion, creativity, and commitment to the safety and well-being of children.
Before hiring, all staff must pass a criminal background check. All staff must participate in our training program that includes but not limited to:
CPR and First Aid
Pool and water safety
General risk management training
COVID-19 safety
Child protection and abuse prevention
When school is out, the Y is in!
During school breaks, and vacations the Y offers a fun, educational Day Camp program for all kids. Each day is full of adventure, from crafts and STEM activities to swimming and outdoor adventures, there’s always fun to be had at the Y’s Day Camp!
Build self-confidence, meet new friends, and have a blast. Get a thrill from activities at the camp facility such as sports clinics, science experiments, or arts and crafts. From trips to the mountains to the museum day camp is full of fun and engaging field trips. Day campers will be divided into small groups by age and will participate in activities appropriate to the interests and needs of their group.

HEALTH & SAFETY
We are committed to providing a fun and enriching environment for your child while keeping them safe. We have learned over the last few months while providing Essential Personnel Childcare how to keep children safe in these unprecedented times. We will be following all CDC, ACA, YUSA, local health department, and state guidelines.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the price?
YMCA Day Camp offers a weekly price for Y facility members and for program participants. The weekly rate for Day Camp is $175 for YMCA members and $200 for YMCA Program Participants. You can reserve your spot at Day Camp each week with a $25 deposit.
Why is Registration online this year?
Our goal is to provide a seamless online registration process to save you a trip to the Y. We have made registration available on Daxko online as a secure and easy way for you to complete health history forms, medication requirements, drop off and pick up contacts and so much more.
What about lunch and snacks?
Yes please pack a sack lunch. There is no access to a microwave.
What does my child need to bring?
A Face Mask, Backpack, Lunch, Water Bottle, Sunscreen, Hat, closed-toed shoes & weather-appropriate attire.
What NOT to bring to Day Camp
Our programs are “unplugged” for the majority of the day. Cell phones, electronics, medications not turned in, pets, toys or weapons. (The YMCA OF THE EAST VALLEY is not responsible for lost or stolen items).
How does the Y manage behavior?
We partner with parents to forge a positive experience for campers. Constructive methods include setting limits, helping children realize appropriate choices, and re-directing.
When and where may I drop off and pick up my child?
Our streamlined process may be different based on the Y site. This function is typically not at the front desk to separate general public and youth programs. Please remember to bring your ID and include everyone approved to pick up your child during registration.
Financial Assistance
At the Y we strive to provide a camp experience to all children regardless of their ability to pay. Individuals, companies, businesses, and organizations make this possible. Last year we were able to provide some level of assistance to more than 14,000 individuals and families.
For more information, please review the financial aid application and criteria.
