We know that lasting personal and social changes come about when we all work together. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Our strength comes from our ability to bring people together, from the seniors having coffee with us every morning, to the parents receiving affordable childcare, and every member walking through our door committed to health. We’re all in this together!
We are grateful for the support that our Y members and community have expressed to us. We are committed to doing everything possible to secure the future of the Y, and its services, in these uncertain times.
Closure for any length of time represents a significant loss to our nonprofit organization and our community. This decision was not easy for our team to make. Still, we recognize that these actions are necessary to help keep our community safe and healthy. So during this challenging time, we ask that you consider not canceling your membership. Or consider donating to the Y so that we can continue our important work.
Over the last few years, our programs have made a significant impact, from preventing accidental drownings to stopping summer learning loss in school-age children and providing a safe and enriching place to be after school for over 5,000 youth every day. We have provided first-time employment to hundreds of young adults. We’ve launched a cancer survivor program to provide emotional support and to increase wellness. Our programs help create a much needed social community for thousands of seniors. We continue to look for opportunities to make a difference in our community. This is essential work, and it helps our community become stronger and safer.
This is why we ask you to stay with us. Please continue your membership with us, and together we’ll get through this.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us keep our community safe & healthy.
