F.A.Q.s
Why is camp registration online?
Camp registration moved online this year! We know that the transition can be a bit tough but this is all for the safety of our campers.
In past years, paper applications could easily get misplaced, damaged, or turned in without all necessary information. With our online registration, we keep a secure database of information about your camper and can access important information, like medications/allergies/etc, much quicker than a paper application.
Not only did we digitize the camp registration, we also streamlined questions for a quicker application process.
If you need assistance completing your online application, please give the YMCA a call at 909-798-9622 and a member of our team will be able to help.
Where is the drop off/pick up spot for camp?
All campers get shuttled from our Highland YMCA branch and will be dropped off there as well.
Drop off is from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on the first day of camp.
Pick up is at 10:00 a.m. at the Highland YMCA
The Highland YMCA is located at 7793 Central Ave, Highland, CA 92346
Can my child bring a cell phone/tablet/laptop to camp?
Nope! Camp Edwards is a technology-free zone and is the perfect chance for our campers to unplug and enjoy time spent away from screens.
Should there be a medical or special need regarding technology, please indicate upon registration.
How can I communicate with my camper?
Sending your child mail will make their day! Being away from home can be a challenge and receiving notes or pieces of home can lessen the degree of homesickness that some campers experience. Based on our several years of dealing with mail for a short week at camp, here is how to best send mail to your camper so it arrives while they are at camp and not after they leave.
On the Thursday or Friday before your child leaves for camp, mail your letter or package. Mailing an item on this day will allow enough time for the item to arrive before your child returns home. Please do not send packages that require signatures to be obtained from the camp staff. Send your mail (US Postal or UPS) to:
Campers name
Camp Edwards
(dates they will be at camp)
42842 Jenks Lake Road East
Angelus Oaks, CA 92305
Please make sure that your return address is clearly written in case it arrives late and we need to return the letter/package. So that your child can send mail to you, provide them with paper, pen, and a couple of stamped, pre-addressed envelopes.
Please note: There is no regular mail service from the Redlands, San Bernardino or Highland YMCA’s. Please do not leave packages at any of the branches.
Where is Camp Edwards located?
Camp Edwards is the YMCA of the East Valley’s residential camp located in Angelus Oaks, California. From our Highland YMCA branch, it takes about an hour to reach our camp.
What is the Camper to Counselor ratio?
Our Camper to Counselor ratio is 10:1; 10 campers to every 1 counselor.
My child has a medication/allergy/special request
Please include medications, allergy information, or any special requests when you register your camper for Camp Edwards. If you need additional space than what is available during registration, please email Rafael Sanchez at rsanchez@ymcaeastvalley.org
