The YMCA of East Valley is a fun, friendly, and motivating environment where our members can stay healthy and fit.
The Y offers over 150 FREE group exercise classes each week including Zumba™, Kettlebells, Spinning, TRX™, Barre, Les Mill’s BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT, and Yoga. In the supportive environment of group exercise class, your classmates and instructors will inspire you to go the extra mile!

Step, dance, jab, and move to the music to get your heart pumping with our innovative and action-packed cardio group exercise classes! Classes include dance, kickboxing, running, and dance more.
Dance classes at the Y are an incredible way to have fun, stay motivated, and embrace a thrilling challenge. With a variety of options available, including Zumba and POUND, you can expect an exhilarating experience that combines fitness, music, and rhythmic movements.
Take the time to center and strengthen your energy with Mind & Body classes. Improve balance and flexibility with these group exercise classes focused on strengthening core muscles and increasing range of motion.
Specialty group exercise classes at the Y offer a targeted and focused approach to fitness, catering to specific areas of interest and providing unique workout experiences.
Get a total body workout focusing on tightening and toning the body using hand weights, body bars, resistance bands, steps, and resistance balls.
Our water exercise classes are a fun way to use the resistance and buoyancy of the water to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Water exercise is perfect if you’re looking for a fun, low impact workout.
Aero Pilates is an improved Pilates reformer workout that not only builds strength and flexibility but with the addition of a simple rebounder. It also addresses weight management and cardiovascular fitness. $12 per class; please register at the desk.
Join the dance party and move to 60s, 70s. 80s and current pop music! Have fun performing “retro” dance steps while burning calories with friends!
GRIT is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups
POUND® is the world’s first cardio jam session inspired by the infectious, energizing and sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums.Channel your inner rockstar with this full body cardio-jam session!
Cardiovascular exercise is the highlight of Silver Sneakers Circuit. Featuring an upper-body strength workout using hand weights, elastic tubing, the ball with non-impact aerobic activity. A chair is available for support and easy head-to-toe stretching.
“Ditch the workout; join the party.” Zumba fuses Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves. This Latin and an international dance-based cardio workout will get you moving and grooving. You’ll have so much fun it won’t even seem like exercise!
Dance up a sweat to your favorite pop and hip-hop Zumba songs. You’ll have so much fun that you won’t even realize you just worked out for sixty minutes. This class is for all fitness levels.
Unleash your inner warrior with this mixed martial arts-inspired cardio workout. Strike, punch, kick, and kata to superior cardio fitness. BODYCOMBAT Express is the same workout in a fiercely energetic 45-minute class.

It’s time to put your tap dancing shoes on! Come and join in on a creative way to keep fit by learning basic tap dancing steps. Bring your own tapping shoes or athletic shoes appropriate for low impact class. Don’t miss out on this fun way to move!

Our mat classes will help you increase core strength, improve posture and body alignment, enhance balance, and help relieve stress. Classes sometimes use props (exercise balls, fit circles) for variety and challenge.

Yin Yoga targets the deeper tissues of the ligaments, joints, and fascia networks, with the use of props to support the body as it passively holds stretches for several minutes at a time, resulting in increased flexibility and range of motion.
A specific sequence of yoga postures and breathing designed to achieve a balance between physical fitness and a healthy, supple, agile, and functional body.
Pilates exercises are done on a spring-loaded apparatus to transform how your body looks, feels, and performs. Pilates Reformer classes are $12 each, and you must sign up at the front desk before class.
Move your whole body through a series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to perform exercises safely. A final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
The Les Mills® you’ve been waiting for. The original barbell class that challenges all of your major muscle groups.
This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. LES MILLS GRIT Strength takes cutting-edge HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches.
For anyone interested in getting a safe introduction to functional fitness in a comfortable environment, a full-body workout with a sense of accomplishment in only 50 minutes. All levels and seniors are welcome.
This jam-packed training includes strength, balance, flexibility, muscular/cardiovascular endurance and coordination. This class utilizes kettlebells and other equipment to challenge participants.
The class is designed for beginner and intermediate yoga participants, incorporating short flow sequences mixed with holding poses for lots of variety.
Reformer Fusion combines the essentials of Pilates: traditional Reformer, Aero Reformer (cardio), and Pilates mat.
Total Resistance eXercise is a training program that allows an individual to leverage their own body weight and use the force of gravity to increase strength, balance, flexibility, coordination, and core stability simultaneously.
With a heavy emphasis on the core, this class will utilize weights and stability balls to build core strength and endurance! All levels are welcome!
A beginning exercise class with a focus on easy-to-follow exercises and stretching.
An energetic, fun workout that fuses fitness techniques from dance, pilates, and strength conditioning that will tone and define the whole body. You don’t need any dance experience because we have tailored the class to various levels of ability.
A mid-to-high intensity water exercise class focusing on cardiovascular condition and muscle toning.
The YMCA welcomes all athletes ages 18 and over. Personal goals such as cardiovascular conditioning, weight loss, toning, improving technique, and training for triathlons. Former collegiate athletes and non-competitive swimmers who are all determined.
