Send a Kid to Camp

Camp is for all kids

At the YMCA of the East Valley, we believe the camp experience is transformational and that all children, regardless of income, deserve to attend this summer adventure and help them discover their true potential.

Camp Edwards gives kids the chance to make new friends, learn new skills and interact with nature. Our camp teaches young people how to be more independent and contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities.

Through various activities and teachings at Camp Edwards, children learn to appreciate the natural world, understand the importance of conservation, and develop skills that will shape their character. They may participate in outdoor adventures, environmental education programs, team-building activities, and more designed to foster community, personal growth, and ecological consciousness.

Your contribution to Camp Edwards enables them to continue offering these valuable experiences to children of all ages and backgrounds. By donating, you give children of all ages and backgrounds values and skills that will strengthen their characters.

Empower Their Journey

For the Ochoa family, financial assistance made it possible for two young sisters to experience the joy and adventure of Camp Edwards. Adrian’s daughters, Miah (age 9) and Aria (age 7)had been eager to try overnight camp and see what all the fun was about.
They wanted to make new friends, enjoy s’mores and hiking, and experience the joy of cabin life. Thanks to scholarship support, their summer dream became a reality.

For families with more than one child, the cost of camp can be a real barrier. “I am very grateful they got to participate in summer camp for the week,” Adrian shared. “It was nice for them to have something to do instead of being on electronics or just at home bored. If it wasn’t for the scholarship, they would not have been able
to attend.”

At camp, Miah and Aria enjoyed swimming, hiking, movies with s’mores, circus activities, archery, and singing camp songs around the fire. Stories like theirs show the power of financial assistance, giving children the chance to grow, connect, and create lifelong memories. Your gift can help make camp possible for another child.
