The YMCA of the East Valley is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive and positive environment for all. All guests & members must adhere to the policies listed below. All participants are asked to conform to these rules and regulations. Abusing facility rules may warrant suspension of YMCA membership and privileges.

Member/Participant Code of Conduct

The YMCA of the East Valley is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive and positive environment for all. All guests must adhere to the Code of Conduct as listed below. The YMCA of the East Valley reserves the right to deny or cancel the membership of any person at any time.

Code of Conduct Purpose
In the interest of safety and welfare, all members and YMCA guests are asked to follow the YMCA Code of Conduct. We seek the highest respect and courtesy toward one another, as well as, proper use maintenance and care of the YMCA property and equipment. All participants are asked to conform to these rules and regulations. Use of the YMCA facilities is a privilege, which can be revoked at any time for violation of the YMCA Code of Conduct. Abusing facility rules may warrant suspension of YMCA membership and privileges.

Code of Conduct:
  •  The use of, or being under the influence of drugs, alcohol, illegal substances or weapons is prohibited.
  • The YMCA is a smoke-free environment. Smoking (including vapor use) is prohibited throughout facilities, property and parking lots.
  • Verbal abuse, intimidating language, swearing, fighting and arguing, and/or any behavior which threatens the enjoyment and/or welfare of other members participants and staff are unacceptable. Violators will be asked to leave or be removed by the police. Abuse of this nature may warrant suspension of YMCA membership and privileges.
  • Treat all members, staff and volunteers with an appropriate level of respect.
  • Instruction of any kind must be provided by a YMCA staff member. (i.e. swim instructors, personal trainers, etc.) Second party instructors are not permitted.
  • The removal of YMCA property, or the property of others, results in termination and prosecution.
  • The YMCA cannot guarantee or accept responsibility for the security of personal belongings anywhere on the premises, including those locked in lockers.
  • Adults/legal guardians must supervise their child(ren)/minor dependents in the facility at all times.
  • Equipment use is provided as a service. The abuse of any YMCA equipment will not be tolerated.
  • Cell phone usage is not permitted in any of our locker rooms at any time.
  • Members and program participants are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the activities which they are participating in, and may not be overly revealing or offensive to the general membership. This includes, but is not limited to any attire or visible tattoos that contain offensive, vulgar and/or obscene material. Additionally, shoes and shirts are required for everyone in the building.
  • Harassment, intimidation or abuse by words (vulgarity, swearing, name-calling, and shouting) gestures, body language or any type of menacing behavior is prohibited.
  • The YMCA supports diversity and inclusion for all. We also respect everyone’s political views; conversations or harassment that disrupts the atmosphere we strive to create may jeopardize your membership.

NONDISCRIMINATION POLICY UNDER THE AMERICAN WITH DISABILITIES ACT In accordance with the requirements of Title lll of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the YMCA will not discriminate against any individual on the basis of disability. The YMCA will make reasonable modifications in policies, practices or procedures when such modifications are necessary to afford its services and facilities to individuals with disabilities, unless the modifications would fundamentally alter the nature of its services. The YMCA will not exclude any individual with a disability from the full and equal enjoyment of its services and facilities, unless the individual poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others that cannot be eliminated by a modification of policies, practices or procedures or by the provision of auxiliary aids or services. Fitness Center Policy

The YMCA of the East Valley is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive and positive environment for all.

All members must adhere to the Fitness Center Policy as listed below.

Fitness Center Age Requirements

  • Ages 8 – 11 may access the running track with adult supervision.
  • Ages 12-14 may access the running track, exercise equipment and kid-friendly exercise classes with adult supervision. (Excludes Pilates Reformer.)
  • Ages 15 and up may access the running track, exercise equipment and group exercise classes.

Fitness Center Rules

  • Appropriate workout attire and gym shoes must be worn at all times. (No jeans or open toe shoes.)
  • Utilize sanitation stations provided to clean machines after each use.
  • Food and drink are not allowed in Fitness Center. (Water is allowed.)
  • Return all weight plates, dumbbells and bars to racks after use.
  • Avoid monopolizing equipment. Allow other to workout with you on the equipment and “spot” another member when needed.
  • Avoid resting on the machine or using your cell phone while on the equipment as this prevents other members from using the equipment.
  • Be safe use a spotter
  • Please ask a Fitness Trainer to assist you!

Equipment Orientation

  • FREE Equipment Orientation is available for full facility members to learn more about Fitness Equipment.
  • Please schedule your Equipment Orientation with the front desk.
  • Fitness Trainers are available in the Fitness Center to help you select the right equipment for you.

Personal Trainers

  • The YMCA offers Personal Training sessions for full facility members looking for one-on-one training.
  • Personal Training sessions may be scheduled at the front desk.
  • All Personal Training session run on an hourly rate and may be purchased in bulk.

We ask that you refrain from cell phone usage while in the YMCA Fitness Center.

Membership Policy

Member Benefits

Everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy the YMCA, but as an Association Member, you’ll experience a wider range of activities and benefits. Association members have the use of all available facilities at Redlands, Highland and San Bernardino YMCAs including many classes offered at no cost or a reduced rate. Participants in YMCA programs must have at least a Program Membership to participate in Y programs such as swim lessons, sports, dance and Camp Edwards.

Nationwide Benefit

Members are always welcome at other participating YMCAs when traveling outside San Bernardino County. Before traveling please stop by the front desk for more information.

Guest Privileges

All members are encouraged to bring guests to the YMCA. All guests must sign in at the Front Desk. Guest passes are limited to 7 consecutive days; per lifetime.

Financial Assistance

The YMCA provides financial assistance, based on need, to those demonstrating they are unable to pay in full. This is made possible by contributions of generous donors during our annual fundraising campaign. Please visit the Front Desk for more information.

Non-Sufficient Funds

All returned checks and/or unpaid ACH drafts will be handled through eCashFlow Systems (888-339-6062). A fee of $25 will be assessed (or the maximum by law) and are due to the collection company prior to any further transactions.

Credits and Refunds

1. Membership

Cancellation – written notification is required to cancel membership. Cancellation must be requested by the primary account member and notification must be submitted 1 business day before the next draft.
Hold –Members may use the hold feature of their membership 2 times per calendar year. Members may only put their membership on hold for a total of 90 days during any calendar year and will be charged an administrative fee of $10/month. Medical holds can be up to 6 months with a note from a doctor and no administrative fee will be applied.
Refunds – membership and joining fees are non-refundable.

2. Program

Cancellation – written notification is required to cancel program registration. Cancellation must be requested by the primary account member.
Refunds –If a member requests a refund before the first meeting of a class or program they will receive a 100% refund, minus the deposit. After the first meeting of a class or program, regardless of attendance, no refunds are available.
Deposits/Registration Fees – deposits and registration fees are required for some programs to allow a member to reserve a spot for a future program. Deposits and registration fees are non-refundable and not transferable.
System Credits – program refunds can be credited to another program, minus any deposits. Credits will be attached to the paying members account and are available for up to one year from the date of issue.
Refund Payments – refunds will be processed based on the payment type. Debit and credit card refunds will be applied to the member’s card charged, check and cash payments will be via check, mailed to the paying members address and may take up to two weeks to process. The YMCA does not provide cash refunds.

3. Camp and Childcare

In an effort to support families, members can reserve their spot for camp or childcare with a deposit/registration fee for the dates desired. The refund/payment policy below only applies to camp and childcare programs.

Deposit – a deposit/registration fee is required for all weeks of day camp and for childcare programs at the time of registration. Deposits are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Day Camp Payment – full payment for each week of day camp is due the Monday before the week of the program. Members with unpaid balances will be removed from the program roster the Wednesday before the week of camp to make room for those on the waiting list, and the deposit is forfeit.
Overnight Camp Payment – full payment for each week of overnight camp is due June 1st. Families may setup payment plans, but must be paid in full by June 1st.
Refunds – after the Monday before the week of day camp no refunds will be issued. After June first no refunds will be issued for overnight camp. No refunds will be issued after the first visit of the month for childcare.
No-shows – no refund will be issued for campers or children that do not contact the YMCA prior to the requirements listed above.

4. Credits and Makeups

The YMCA does not provide makeup classes or credits for program days or program meetings that a child misses during a session. On the rare occasion that the YMCA has to cancel a program day or scheduled program meeting the director for the program may provide an option for families. Refunds are not available in these circumstances.

Age Policy

The YMCA of the East Valley is dedicated to providing a safe,
supportive and positive environment for all.

All members must adhere to the Age Policy as listed below.

Locker Rooms
  • Ages 5 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Ages 14 and under may utilize the youth locker rooms. Parent may accompany child of same gender, age 14 and under. Parent may accompany child of different gender, age 5 and under.
  • Ages 12 and up are permitted to utilize the adult locker rooms. Saunas in the adult locker rooms are for members 18 year and older.
  • Family locker rooms are also available. (Redlands)
Fitness Center Rules
  • Ages 8 – 11 may access the running track with adult supervision.
  • Ages 12-14 may access the running track, exercise equipment and kid-friendly exercise classes with adult supervision. (Excludes Pilates Reformer.)
  • Ages 15 and up may access the running track, exercise equipment and group exercise classes.
  • Complimentary towel service is available for the Fitness Center participants only. (Redlands only)
  • Proper workout attire is required (no jeans or open toe shoes.)
Aquatics
  • Age 5 and under must be supervised by an adult that is less than an arm’s length away at all times in water.
  •  Ages 6-11 may access the pool facilities during designated hours with a supervising adult on pool deck.
  • Ages 12-14 may use the pool during open swim times with an adult present in the facility.
  • Ages 12-14 must be supervised by an adult if participating in water exercise classes and/or lap swim.
  •  Ages 15 years and up have full use of the pool.
  • Whirlpool may not be accessed by children 12 and under. Ages 12-14 may access with adult supervision.
Basketball Gym (Redlands and Highland)
  • Basketball Gym (Redlands and Highland)
  • Age 10 and under must be supervised by an adult during open gym times.
  • Ages 11-14 are permitted to use the gym as long as an adult remains in the facility.
  • Ages 15 years and up have full use of the gym during open gym times.
Racquetball Courts (Redlands)
  •  Ages 14 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times when using the courts.
  • Ages 15 and up have full use of the courts and may reserve court time at the Front Desk.
  • Protective eye wear is recommended for everyone.

Guest Pass Policy

All guests must adhere to the Guest Pass Policies as listed below.

Guest Pass Availability

  • All guests to the YMCA must check in with the YMCA front desk, including visiting members participating in the Nation Wide Membership.
  • Guest passes are available to non-members and may be picked up at the front desk.
  • Passes are valid for 7 consecutive days, (one week per lifetime.)
  • Passes are a privilege and may be revoked if YMCA policies and procedures are not followed by the guest.

Guest Pass Age Requirements

  • Guest passes are available for visitor’s age18 and over.
  • If a guest is under the age of 18, a legal parent must accompany the guest at all times.

Guest Pass Registration

  • Guests must check in at the front desk every time the facility is used.
  • All guests must present a government issued picture I.D.
  • Guests must sign a Waiver of Liability before using the facilities.
  • Guests are required to follow all YMCA policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.

Guest Pass Access

  • Ages 8-11 may access the running track, racquetball courts, gym and pools with adult supervision.
  • Ages 12-14 may access the running track, racquetball courts, gym, pools, exercise equipment and exercise classes with adult supervision. (Excludes Pilates Reformer.)
  • Ages 15 and up may access the running track, racquetball courts, gym, pools, exercise equipment and group exercise classes. (Pilates Reformer to include a fee. Please see front desk.)
  • Proper workout attire is required (no jeans or open toe shoes.)

Guest Pass Concerns

  • Any questions on the Guest Pass Policy may be directed to the YMCA front desk staff. It is our pleasure to have visitors in our facility and hope that you enjoy your visit to the YMCA of the East Valley.

Pool Safety Rules

Important Aquatics Information

Keeping our pools and members safe is important to us.

This summer, please check in with the lifeguard before entering the pools. They will introduce themselves, go over any important reminders, and swim test all children ages 6 -14 during our open swim times.

 

All non-swimmers (those who cannot pass the swim test and those who use Coast Guard approved personal floatation devices (PFD’s)) & Children under the age of 6 must be supervised by a responsible companion (16+) in the water at an arm’s length away.

 

The decision of the lifeguard will be final. Lifeguards have the authority to remove those who do not follow the safety rules.

  • Walk on deck. No running or jumping.
  • Head to toe showers are recommended for all before entering pool. If head is going to stay dry, then a shoulder to toe shower is required.
  • Please use locker rooms to change your child’s swimsuit, deck changing is not allowed.
  • Children 2 and under and/or not potty trained must wear a non-disposable swim diaper in the pools.
  • Please No food, drink, gum, baby bottles, glass bottles, soap, or razors in pool area.
  • Bathing suits should be worn. No cutoffs or long pants below the knees.
  • Spitting, blowing of the nose or discharge of bodily waste in the pool is prohibited.
  • Parents or Guardians are responsible for supervising their Children.
  • All non-swimmers are requested to wear Coast Guard approved personal floatation devices (PFD’s). A responsible (16+) must be in the water within an arms length away.
  • Children under the age of 6 years old must be supervised at all times by a responsible (16+) who is in the water with in an arms length away.
  • Children 6-11 may access the pool facilities during designated hours as long as they have a supervising adult on the pool deck.
  • Children 12-14 years old must be supervised by an adult during water exercise and lap swim.
  • Children 12-14 years and up can use the pools during open swim times without adult supervision; an adult must be in the facility.
  • Children 15 years and up have full use of both pools.
  • Breath holding activities are prohibited.
  • Please do not hang on the lane lines or life line.
  • Please do not use water wings (or other inflatable devices).
  • No flips, spins, leaning back jumps into the pool.
  • Three or more swimmers per lane MUST circle swim. Two swimmers per lane MAY agree to split the lane. 
  • Use of fins, hand paddles or other equipment MAY be allowed provided it does not interfere with other swimmers. 
  • Swimmers MUST continuously swim the length of the pool. Stopping, other than at the ends of the pool is NOT allowed.
OUTDOOR POOL RULES
  • Parents, must supervise children at all times.
  • The frog slide is for children, 5 and under.
  • Remember, feet first on the frog slide for safety.
  • No food or drink outside on the pool deck.
  • Shower before entering the pool.
  • For your safety, no diving is permitted.
  • To respect others, please refrain from playing music.
  • Pool noodles, kick boards, and toys are not permitted in the outdoor pool.

POOL DEFINITIONS

  • Adaptive Aquatics: This time is reserved for the special needs class at Redlands High School to come and enjoy the pool.
  • Open Swim: Pool is open for free time. There are no organized activities. Private swim lessons may also be in at this time.
  • Water Aerobics Classes: During this time the teaching pool is reserved for our group Water Aerobics classes only.
  • Gentle Joints: A low to moderate specialized water exercise program designed for individuals with arthritis and joint replacements. Learn a series of exercises to help relieve pain and stiffness, increase and maintain range of motion, and increase muscular strength and endurance.
  • Power Plunge: A mid to high-intensity class focusing on cardiovascular conditioning and muscle toning.
  • Water Walking: Designated time for uninstructed water walking or water exercise in the teaching pool.
  • Aqua Dance: Uninstructed class that members are encouraged to move to the music in their own individual way, whether that be exercise or dance.
  • Swim Lessons: Swim Lessons are taught by YMCA staff to members of all ages and skill levels. See program flyer for more information.
  • The decision of the lifeguard will be final. Lifeguards have the authority to remove those who do not follow the safety rules.
  • Schedules are subject to change. Daily changes without notice are possible, although we will make every effort to inform members.

In Short: Some information – such as IP address and/or browser and device characteristics – is collected automatically when you visit our Sites or Apps .

INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH OUR APPS 

In Short: We may collect information regarding your geo-location, mobile device, push notifications,when you use our apps.

If you use our Apps, we may also collect the following information: 

  • Geo-Location Information. We may request access or permission to and track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application, to provide location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
  • Mobile Device Access. We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s camera , geolocation , and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
  • Mobile Device Data. We may automatically collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model and manufacturer), operating system, version information and IP address.
  • Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the mobile application. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.
INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM OTHER SOURCES 

In Short: We may collect limited data from public databases, marketing partners, and other outside sources. 

We may obtain information about you from other sources, such as public databases, joint marketing partners, as well as from other third parties. Examples of the information we receive from other sources include: social media profile information ; marketing leads and search results and links, including paid listings (such as sponsored links).

2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?  

In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.

We use personal information collected via our Sites or Apps for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests (“Business Purposes”), in order to enter into or perform a contract with you (“Contractual”), with your consent (“Consent”), and/or for compliance with our legal obligations (“Legal Reasons”).   • To facilitate account creation and logon process with your Consent. If you choose to link your account with us to a third party account *(such as your Google or Facebook account), we use the information you allowed us to collect from those third parties to facilitate account creation and logon process.

We and/or our third party marketing partners may use the personal information you send to us for our marketing purposes, if this is in accordance with your marketing preferences. This information may be used to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content and better understand online activity. 5. DO WE USE GOOGLE MAPS?  

In Short: Yes, we use Google Maps for the purpose of providing better service.

This website, mobile application, or Facebook application uses Google Maps APIs. You may find the Google Maps APIs Terms of Service here. To better understand Google’s Privacy Policy, please refer to this link.  

By using our Maps API Implementation, you agree to be bound by Google’s Terms of Service.

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?  

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this policy will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us .
